BET is riding on a high right now after its <a href="http://madamenoire.com/784052/new-edition-story/">New Edition mini-series</a> not only boosted its ratings but also its standing with the audience it seeks to reach and entertain -- Black folk. Tonight, the network will find out if it can continue the spell it put viewers under with <em>Being Mary Jane</em> as it launches another hour-long drama, <em>The Quad.</em>
The series follows the "ambitious, yet secretive life" of Dr. Eva Fletcher (Anika Noni Rose), the newly elected President of fictitious HBCU, Georgia A&M, as well as the school's incoming freshman class, one of which is Eva's rebellious daughter Zoe.

Eva finds another adversary in Art Diamond (Ruben Santiago-Hudson), the "charismatic yet ruthless leader" of Georgia A&M's marching band, which is a staple of the university. But she also finds allies in Ella Grace (Jasmine Guy), Dean of the history department, and football coach, Eugene Hardwick (Sean Blakemore).
