Before All Eyez On Me, the highly-anticipated biopic narrating the life of  Tupac, hit the big screens on Friday (June 16), Jada Pinkett Smith, who had a special friendship with the hip hop icon, took to social media to share that she wasn’t happy with the portal of their relationship.

“The reimagining of my relationship to Pac has been deeply hurtful,” Smith wrote on Twitter Friday afternoon, claiming that many of the conversations and situations that were depicted in the movie never happened in reality.

After setting the social sphere ablaze with her disproval, one of the film’s main producers, L.T. Hutton has spoken to TMZ on the matter.

“I’m kind of disappointed and just hurt by the accusations that it wasn’t depicted or I can’t remember the exact words she said,” Hutton said. “But it all came from the truth and places of moments of her actual dialogue and ideas that Pac actually had.”

The producer went on to say that he took the time to study Jada’s own words about Tupac in interviews, and believes she was fairly portrayed, adding that while the filmmakers took a few liberties in the script for the sake of showing who Pac was, wanted to be, and had to be, there was no malicious intent.

While Hutton was affected by Pinkett Smith’s words, he did offer that he still has unwavering respect for the award-winning actress.  “I wouldn’t put anything in this film…and everybody watching the film, they’ll tell you I was very responsible with everyone,” he continued.

Watch the video below as L.T. Hutton speaks out on the sticky situation.
