If you follow her on social media, then you know that Ciara has post-baby weight goals that she’s been trying to reach ever since she had her daughter Sienna in April. To track her progress and to be held accountable, she’s started to share weekly weigh-ins. And to ensure that she reaches those goals, not only has the singer headed back to the gym, but she’s also gone with her family (minus Sienna of course).
She shared a shot of herself, with new faux loc braids in her hair, husband Russell Wilson and son Future working up a sweat on stationary bikes together recently:
The “Ride” singer, who got back in remarkable shape after having Future in 2014, said the trick was to not deprive herself, but to avoid going overboard. Making sure she drinks a lot of water always helps as well.
“First, I give myself a break. When I’m on a strict eating regimen, at some point I have to have French fries, a cheeseburger, and some pizza,” she told Shape in 2015. “And Oreos and vanilla ice cream! I also believe that drinking tons of water and flushing out your system is crucial for training. It really helped me drop the weight. I tell myself that water is my medicine and that to stay well, I have to drink a gallon of it every day.”
Water aside, something she doesn’t go crazy on is whatever she’s craving as eating in moderation is key.
“The food isn’t going anywhere,” Ciara said. “You know those days when you think you have to have a plate of pasta right now? When I’m trying to be good, I take a minute to ask myself, Do you really need to eat all this crazy stuff? It will still be around if you want it later.”
