Lord knows the digital and tech world could use more people of color. Not to mention women. For representation purposes alone, we’re excited about this new app Afreekmoji. Like Ebroji and other similar apps plenty of celebrities have launched in the past few years, Afreekmoji is about using a keyboard extension to express our emotions.
And this one, as the name suggests, places an emphasis on Black and African culture. The app was founded by the Ugokwe sisters. These same women are behind Dashiki Pride. These three women, still in their early twenties, hope that Afreekmoji can be “another medium in which these entrepreneurs hope to share and educate the world about their beautiful African culture.”
