Aspiring Model Responds To Troll Who Said She’d Be Fire If She Had Lighter Skin

People will tell you that best internet practice dictates that trolls should be ignored. But as human beings with real feelings and emotions, that's easier said than done. Furthermore, some people need to be checked. That's what 19-year-old Cameroonian model Mimi Mbah did when pictures of her featured on the Twitter account African Beauties was met with a bit of colorist criticism. African Beauties tweeted this.

And while the response was resoundingly positive and supportive, there's always one in the bunch who has no act right.

After the whole thing, Mbah told BuzzFeed News that while she wasn't surprised to receive the tweet, she was disappointed. "It's happened to me before and I think almost every dark skin girl can say the same too. I'm glad my tweet went viral because now I feel like I have a platform which I want to use to talk about things like that and give advice to other dark skin women who are going through similar situations and probably blaming themselves for it.
