Kids of this generation are taking prom dresses to a whole new level. While I remember ordering mine online and paying 60 bucks for it, today’s youth are about custom made. Whether it’s African inspired or based on a celebrity look, a lot of this teenagers are not playing.
One Cardinal-Newman High School senior used her dress to make a statement. Her prom dress featured the faces of Tamir Rice, Sandra Bland, Mike Brown, Oscar Grant, and most prominently, Trayvon Martin.
Milan Bolden Morris, 17, posted a picture of herself in the dress and it went viral.
Morris, who has also been named Palm Beach Post’s Small Schools Girls Basketball Player of the Year, captioned the phone, “Yes I’m black. Yes I’m 17. Yes God is using me to convey a message that’s bigger than me.”
Alright now.
And on top of that, the dress is too fly.
