Yesterday we told you that singer Meshell Ndegeocello’s mother, Helen Johnson, had been missing for a whopping two weeks. The 72-year-old has dementia and was last seen leaving her home in Prince George’s County, which is in Washington D.C., on April 10.
The singer shared multiple posts on social media in the hopes of tracking down her mom. Thankfully, after word was spread far and wide, Johnson was found unharmed in Virginia. Ndegeocello said that her mother’s safe recovery is proof of “love and luck.”
According to the D.C. ABC affiliate, Ndegeocello received the news while in Europe touring. As we told you previously, she had to fulfill her concert obligations abroad while also trying to figure out the whereabouts of Johnson. The singer’s brother, Jacques Johnson, informed her yesterday that she was found alive. He told ABC that Helen is currently being evaluated at a hospital in Virginia. They stated that an “EZ pass clue” of Helen’s car, which had also been ticketed at the Dulles International Airport in Virginia, helped them track her down.
Thank goodness that Helen has been found safe and sound. When people use their Internet powers for good, as you can see, it can make all of the difference.
