Clik here to view. BigStockPhoto[/caption] If you're a woman, hell even a girl past the age of ten, you've likely been approached by a man on the street. He's commented on your body, tried to walk along with you making annoying small talk, or he's asked for your phone number. The latter of which is particularly unnerving. You can ignore a rude, sexualized comment. You can nod and smile over talk about the weather. But asking for your phone number, in most cases, requires your participation, unless you're like me and just ignore everything. If not, you have to either give the number, decline the offer or, as so many women do, give a fake one and hope he doesn't call you immediately to make sure he stored it right. So many women resort to giving the fake number because far too often, men turn downright devilish after rejection. And as a woman, perhaps alone on the street, that sudden switch can be and has historically proven to be quite dangerous. But thankfully, this is not a story about a man spazzing out and inflicting some type of injury on a woman. In fact, it's quite the opposite.
Say whaaaaaa?! The occurrence was so rare and so shocking that the reaction, the retweets and the response were so strong in volume that the woman who originally tweeted about the encounter, got sick of her phone freezing from all the Twitter notifications. Check some of the more entertaining ones out below. First, there was this question which some viewed as a bit problematic.Woooooowwwwww this dude just asked for my number, I declined and he politely said "I can respect that have a good day beautiful" pic.twitter.com/kRguOauXxz

@SmileBKLYN Did you regret not giving him ur # since he turned out to be respectful? (Genuinely asking)
— Maria Portuondo (@Pekitos1121) April 25, 2017
@SmileBKLYN Don't think that's good advice to tell her to give him the number if she said she wasn't interested. She would be confirming that she lied.

@MrSinister715 nope, I wasn't interested so If I gave him my number for doing what's expected of him I would just be wasting his time.
