When stars cancel shows for health reasons, fans are understandably upset about it. But in the case of Kehlani’s recent show in Grand Rapids, Michigan, her fans seemed nothing short of supportive of the “CRZY” singer’s decision to cancel her show because of health concerns.
The singer came out dressed down for the performance, an early one in her summer Sweet Sexy Savage tour. Soon after though, she told her fans that while she promised her team that she would try, she didn’t feel anywhere near close to 100 percent to put on a good show.
She offered to refund all of her fans their money out of her own pocket if necessary in case the venue wouldn’t be able to reschedule the show. But she made it clear that she just couldn’t continue.
“I truly feel like I might have to go to the hospital at this point because I feel crazy,” the 22-year-old said. “I’m so sorry.”
The singer didn’t elaborate on what exactly was wrong with her, but she repeated the need to seek medical aid.
“I need to go do something about this because I feel crazy,” she said.
Thankfully, though, earlier today the singer put out a message not only confirming that her show will be rescheduled, but that she’s also getting some much-needed rest. She’s “still very much sick,” but is taking advantage of some time off, albeit brief.
This isn’t the first time Kehlani has been sidelined because of health concerns. In 2016, she was put on a psychiatric hold after she tried to end her life over those rumors that she’d cheated on NBA star Kyrie Irving. And in March of this year, she had to take a break from touring to get an umbilical hernia operated on. We would say that we’re hoping for a speedy recovery, but it sounds like she needs to take her time to get back to 100 percent.
UPDATE: Kehlani is clarifying that she is just physically ill, not having any issues in terms of mental health. She’s set to get back on the road tomorrow and her Grand Rapids show will be rescheduled for the top of June:
