Though it’s nearly impossible to sum up the feeling of spending a weekend with 100 of the most gifted and ambitious high school students across the country during Disney’s Dreamers Academy, I realize sometimes we just want the cliff notes. Sometimes we just want the lesson to be short, sweet and to the point, and so I’ve done my best to give you that, taking bits and pieces from the speakers over the course of four days of encouragement and resource sharing and compiled them into a list of things dreamers do and don’t do.
Often we think of a dreamer as someone who just fantasizes about one day doing x,y, or z — and sometimes that ends up being the case. But these dos and don’ts are designed to get you to move past the idea, remove whatever mental or emotional barriers are in your way, and get into action. And they were handed down from people who know what they’re talking about. People like Cam Newton and Kim Fields who had big dreams too and decided to follow them. So check out this short list of dos and don’t and if you want the extended version of the lessons, check out these takeaways.
